De Beauvoir Deli Co

98 Southgate Rd, London N1 3JD, UK – 020 7249 4321

Love to come here to pick up a sandwich to take away or eat at the tables outside. We usually end up browsing and picking up an interesting pastry or something from their shop for later. Great spot!

The food here is excellent, the variety and quality is also stellar. Deli style offerings, good breads, cafe with freshly made sandwiches etc. It is however very expensive with a real west London vibe, so quite a juxtaposition from the other places in the area. Not complaining though, nice to have the option even if your wallet will cry... But respect as they've just begun embracing vegan options.

Angel Delicatessen London

48 Cross St, London N1 2BA, UK – 020 7226 1951

Be warned- you will get carried away buying tons of tasty things to take home, Mortadella is our favourite! Terrific deli I'd highly recommend! Perfect coffee too. Haven't eaten in yet-but I'm sure it's great.

I'm a regular here for lunch and am pretty much addicted to their Chicken Ciabatta while the Gnocchi is also amazing. The coffee is also fantastic and the owner and staff are very personable and clearly love what they do. Can't recommend highly enough!!

Planet Organic

64 Essex Rd, London N1 8LR, UK – 020 7288 9460

Great range of food and products. Really like this place and the staff are very helpful.

I love this store. They offer organic, local produce, allow BYO bags, have a delicious prepared food sections and lots of vegan-friendly products as well as environmentally friendly home goods (cleaners, shampoos, etc). They are very responsive to customer feedback as well and are clearly dedicated to minimizing their environmental impact with continual improvements to their practices and products. 2018 UPDATE: They have added a bulk foods section in partnership with Unpack'd and allow you to fill your own bags / containers with dry foods, nuts, etc to avoid plastic packaging and overbuying.

Planet Organic

111-117 Muswell Hill Rd, London N10 3HS, UK – 020 8442 2910

Great Place , great food , lovely staff , gluten free stuff , near my Record shop in Hornsey N8 7BS ! thank you Planet Organic

I like the organic nuts section where you get to buy loose nuts .. It has a fresh taste.. specially walnuts . However if you think all they sell is good .. you are deluded! Check and read the label of each item.. like any other feel good words .. “ ORGANIC” is being hi jacked by cooperations for marketing. Imagine you buy organic hempseed and it’s grown in China. Wise man advised me to stay away from food grown in China because the pollution has caused some food products to contain high toxin levels. Another good example : mushrooms. Well, in that case I will stay away from radioactive mushrooms from Japan to avoid the Fukushima’s toxic water! I came across “ BUDDAH TEA” section in front of the cashier.. where they are literally selling a religious leader. The products include “Skinny BUDDAH “ , “Nirvana blend” and many other tea selling gimmicks using Buddhist sacred words. This is not acceptable .. imagine if they sell “skinny Jesus” or “Skinny Allah... “ there will be riots! I complain to the manager to consider removing this item from shop.. she did not care... ask me to contact the customer services department! I checked from where this tea come from... guess what .. it is made in America by a Jewish company under different Organic standards and the herbal tea is grown in America! I wonder how they register their business as “ BUDDAH TEA” .. can’t people stay away from religious leaders as a respect! They have Hijacked Buddhism for marketing their products ! I will not step into this shop again.... Well maybe to return the “ Buddhas Nirvana blend.. “

Earth Natural Foods

200-202 Kentish Town Rd, London NW5 2AE, UK – 020 7482 2211

Love this shop. Being vegan, wish I found it sooner. Their prices on some products are better than Planet Organic and Whole foods plus they are closer to home, plus I can get by weight (perfect for a small kitchen). The staff are really friendly. Wish they had biodegradable plastic or waxed paper options for the purchase by weight. Prepared food is good too and reduced price at closing. I'm now going more regular.

Really excellent high quality fresh fruit and vegetables that are delicious. The cheese counter is the best found in this area and is manned by an expert who gives sound advice and help. The eggs are like the ones I used to eat as a child in the 50’s - really fresh and when hard-boiled they peel easily. All the stock in this shop is of the highest quality and the staff are welcoming and helpful. It is a superb shop!
